Niels Abrahamsen

Niels has more than 10 years of experience in the IP area, and additionally he has 10 years experience as a scientist. Today he works at Zacco within the field of life science, biotech and pharma. His work is focused on European Patent drafting and prosecution, general IP counselling and litigation support.

Niels graduated in 1991 with a Master of Science in molecular biology from University of Copenhagen. During 1992-1996 he worked at Hagedorn Research Institute (NovoNordisk A/S) as a Ph.D. student, and graduated as a Ph.D. in molecular biology in 1996. From 1996-1999, he worked as a senior scientist at the Finsen Centre, University Hospital of Copenhagen, and from 1999-2001 as a research scientist at the pharmaceutical company H.Lundbeck A/S. 2001-2006, he worked as a patent counsel at H.Lundbeck, and from 2006-2007 as a patent manager at Genmab A/S. From 2007-2012 Niels worked as a patent attorney at Santaris Pharma A/S.

Niels joined Zacco in 2012. His technical experience is within molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmaceuticals and human disease. Niels has published 10 scientific papers, and is co-inventor on two patent applications.
